The Hyatt Centric Congress Avenue Austin has opened in the heart of Texas’ capital. Towering 31 stories above the city, the 246-room hotel, which is the second Hyatt Centric property in the Lone Star State, features architecture by Nelsen Partners that yields a modern, bohemian-inspired interior design by UCO Studio.
“The story’s origin for the interior design of the Hyatt Centric rests on Austin’s rich history and vibrant cultural landscape—a recognized creative haven for artists and musicians,” says UCO design director Theresa Zavala. “As a hub for creatives, the designers wanted the interiors to tell a story that would inspire guests, boost creativity, and contribute to a stronger sense of wellbeing.”
To imbue the property with an homage to Texan landscapes, interiors are animated with a variation of color, playful texture, and a material palette of stone, tile, and wood.
All-day eatery Luminaire anchors the ground floor of the hotel, while terrace bar and lounge Las Bis is featured nearby the eighth-floor hotel lobby.
The Hyatt Centric Congress Avenue Austin houses more than 2,500 square feet of flexible event space, lined with hardwood floors and floor-to-ceiling windows, across its third floor. On the 31st floor, the 1,400-square-foot penthouse also doubles as an event space comprising spacious living and dining areas overlooking the city.
Accommodations nod to the musical legacy of the setting with guitar-amp nightstands, theater lighting, and vintage concert posters as well.
