LIORA HAYMANN
PRINCIPAL
With over two decades of experience in architecture and urban design, Liora Haymann brings a global perspective and a deep respect for local culture to her role as Principal at OBMI. A Chilean-born architect educated at MIT, she is known for her ability to bridge design excellence with business acumen and strategic foresight.
Liora’s work spans hospitality, mixed-use, and urban planning projects across the Americas, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. She is recognized for developing design solutions that are both original and contextually grounded—balancing creativity with operational and financial insight. At OBMI, she leads multidisciplinary teams, facilitates interactive client workshops, and guides the firm’s strategic initiatives to ensure projects progress efficiently, on time and on budget.
Fluent in five languages—English, Spanish, German, Hebrew, and French—Liora connects seamlessly across cultures and markets. Her professional background includes leading her own practice in Chile and founding a consultancy in Miami that linked the design, tourism, and urban development sectors of Latin America and the U.S. She joined OBMI in 2006 and continues to shape the firm’s global practice through thought leadership and mentorship.
A Chilean Registered Architect and International Associate of the AIA, Liora holds degrees from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Beyond architecture, she is a licensed Iyengar yoga instructor, 5Rhythms practitioner, and former competitive skier.
“Architects pride themselves on being creatives, but I love the business side, too. When the business is running well, it allows our designers to be better designers.”
