OBMI’s Vertical Resort, Aera, Wins Radical Innovation Awards

Radical Innovation is an initiative that challenges creative thinkers and design visionaries to conceptualize innovations in travel, hospitality, and architecture. Through an annual competition, Radical Innovation mobilizes innovators worldwide with the ideas to propel the industry forward. Each year, submissions are received and reviewed by a jury of thought leaders. We are proud to announce that OBMI’s vertical resort concept, Aera, was chosen as the Grand Prize winner in the 16th annual Radical Innovation competition.

Aera was born out of a need to transform the “typical” resort layout to be more accessible. Due to the scarcity of land in urban environments, the vertical concept allows for the entire resort experience in the heart of any major city. Integrating biophilic design elements like walking trails, garden-to-table produce, and utilizing phytoremediation to clean the air enhances the environment – experiencing the city, interiors, and exteriors—and, in doing so, form a unique resort experience.

The seven districts are dining, art, fashion, drama, garden, wellness, and family, and they intrigue travelers and locals alike with activities for the whole family.
