Preserving Our Legacy Through Dedicated Corporate Social Responsibility

Upon reaching our 85th year in business, the future legacy of OBMI was a prominent topic in discussions among our leadership team. Our footprint currently spans nine countries and includes a long-standing dedication to delivering superior quality and service while respecting the environment where we live, work and play. This commitment to delivering sustainable developments has been a driving force in our success, allowing our projects to become seamlessly woven into the fabric of the communities and become a part of their future history. To continue our legacy of engagement and innovation in sustainability, we are launching our external program and events for our Corporate Social Responsibility policy, known as OBMI+.

At our firm, sustainable practices are delivered through a holistic approach and embedded in our design philosophy. Our roots in Bermuda and years of experience years in sensitive environments like the Caribbean have taught us to prioritize employing environmentally responsible construction practices to create sustainable, high-performance, thermally comfortable, and aesthetically appealing solutions for our clients and those who experience our designs. We play a unique role in contributing to the solutions of global issues. More than just economic factors, we bring ideas, skills, and technologies and deploy them at scale.

Today, we continue to express our creativity while respecting the natural landscape and making the best use of modern advancements like eco-friendly materials and alternative energy sources. While sustainability has always been a core value, even before there was a term to describe it, we are more committed than ever to expanding our team’s community involvement and focusing on our newly initiated CSR program.

OBMI+ signifies the positive impact our firm will make on both surrounding communities and our team. Internally, we have been working on policies and partnerships that embody the goals of the company and our employees toward building a resilient and sustainable future. Each of our initiatives will fall into one of the four pillars guiding our policy: Governance, Employee Wellness, Social Impact & Community Involvement, and Sustainability & Resiliency.

OBMI’s success is deeply rooted in the values instilled by our founding fathers, and I believe they would be incredibly proud of their company today. There is no more incredible feeling than knowing the firm they created is building a legacy that positively impacts individuals and communities worldwide.
