Aera Vertical Resort Wins A’ Design Award

OBMI-Designed Aera Vertical Resort Named Bronze A’ Design Award Winner for Architecture, Building and Structure Design Category

The A’ Architecture, Building and Structure Design Competition is a specialized design competition open to both concept stage and realized architectural projects, urban design projects and buildings designed by architects, architecture offices, real estate developers and construction companies worldwide. The A’ Design Award for Architecture, Building and Structure Design is the indicator of quality and perfection in design.

OBMI is honored that the concept, Aera Vertical Resort, has been recognized as a Bronze A’ Design Award Winner for Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category. In pursuit of reimagining traditional resorts, OBMI’s innovation lab endeavored to respond to the challenges of developers and needs of consumers by creating a new model that has never been introduced to cities.

By exploring the porosity for design, OBMI envisioned taking the low sprawling resort model upward with an innovative skin and skeleton to open up spaces within the traditional high-rise structure to interconnect the city, interiors, exteriors and, in doing so, form unique vantage points and experiences. Our solution is a new, distinct, vertically integrated resort experience right in a city’s urban center that reduces the building footprint, provides wellness through intimate access to nature, and provides an oasis without the need for extensive travel.
