Maud Capet brings more than twenty years of experience in luxury hospitality interiors to her role as Associate Principal at OBMI.

Her international career began in Paris before expanding across the Middle East and beyond, shaping a truly global perspective on design. She is known for creating refined and immersive environments that are both elegant and deeply connected to their context, with a strong sensitivity to how spaces are experienced. Her design approach blends narrative-driven concepts with a deep respect for place, resulting in spaces that feel both timeless and authentic.

Maud has led the design of award-winning hotels, resorts, branded residences, and restaurants for internationally recognized hospitality brands including Jumeirah, Anantara, Marriott, Accor, and IHG. Her work spans Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa, and reflects a consistent commitment to quality, innovation, and long-term value. In recognition of her work, she was named Interior Designer of the Year at the Design Middle East Awards KSA 2024. She works closely with project teams throughout the design process, ensuring that the original vision is carried through by articulating a clear narrative grounded in context and shaping the guest experience with care. Notable projects include Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab in Dubai, Ritz-Carlton Palm Hills in Cairo, and The Luxury Collection at Reserva Conchal in Costa Rica, each reflecting her ability to design unique destinations with curated storylines that capture a strong sense of place, inspiring creativity while reinforcing brand identity.

A strong advocate for sustainable luxury, Maud approaches each project with a holistic and environmentally conscious mindset. She is particularly interested in how design can support both local communities and the long-term success of a project, working closely with clients and stakeholders to embed these principles from the outset. Raised in Martinique, her sensibility was shaped by an environment where the dialogue between land, climate, and culture is ever-present. This early immersion in a way of life defined by harmony and resourcefulness resonates with OBMI’s own Caribbean heritage, revealing a natural alignment in their shared approach to crafting spaces that are deeply attuned to their surroundings.

Outside of her professional work, Maud has a deep passion for travel and cultural exploration. Drawn to the nuances of local life, she seeks out meaningful encounters with communities and artisans, finding inspiration in the details that define each destination.
