Mike Wilson

As President and Chief Operating Officer, he oversees the financial, operational, and organizational foundations of the firm, helping OBMI remain agile, collaborative, and true to its boutique studio culture.

Mike’s leadership is grounded in the belief that strong organizations are built on people as much as numbers. His earlier career in corporate restructuring gave him first-hand insight into how business decisions affect employees, families, and communities. That perspective continues to shape his approach to leadership at OBMI, where he works closely with the firm’s leadership team to support long-term growth while preserving the culture that defines the practice.

During his tenure, Mike helped guide OBMI through the financial crisis of 2008 and played a key role in strengthening the firm’s organizational structure. He also established OBMI’s Junior Board, an initiative designed to identify and mentor the next generation of leaders while encouraging new ideas that improve both internal processes and client service.

Mike began his career as a chartered accountant with KPMG in London, where he spent a decade restructuring and managing companies across a range of industries. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Financial Analysis from Newcastle University and is an Associate Chartered Accountant.

Outside of work, Mike remains deeply active. A longtime sportsman who has played soccer, rugby, and squash, he has also completed several Ironman triathlons since moving to Miami. He is an avid reader and traveler, and a committed student of wine, having completed the Wine and Spirits Education Trust Level 3 certification.
